While still young, Praeses saw his father, Pairu, die during the resistance to the invasion of Galea, and everyone around him getting forced to work as miners by the orders of King Baldur Kratt. As a young adult, he channeled these feelings of frustration, fear and powerlessness into a plan with some fellow workers in order to escape the island.
